Trekking to La Campana
(visited by Charles
Darwin in 1834) takes full day trip from
Santiago. Leaving Santiago in
the morning, at 7:00am we drive to Olmue and
then we arrive to La
Campana. The
route begins at the southern Park entrance.
The path that ascent to
the summit
take around 4-5 hours (1,880 meters of hike,
slope). The trail is
relatively a steep
walking,
which runs through dense natural trees like
Canelo, Peumo, Roble and
Boldo.
From the
summit
wa have a great view of the Andes mountains
range with the impressive
peak
of Aconcagua: Meanwhile looking to the other
side to west, in a clear
day we
can see the pacific
Ocean. Back to Santiago and arrival by
19:00hrs.
