El Plomo Base camp (Inca path)

Suitable date : November - April

El Plomo summit 17,815 ft. (5.430 mts.), is the highest mountain viewed from Santiago. Formerly visited by the Incas to make his rituals, it is an incomparable beauty. In our trek we will follow the Inca path to this summit. On February 1954 a "arriero" found near El Plomo suimmit a eight years old Inca boy frozen. This was part of the Inca rituals to big mountains of the area, in this case of Santiago Area.

Program

Day 1: Santiago - Valle Nevado.
Pick up at your place. Ground transfer from Santiago to Valle Nevado ski resort, 1,5 hours. Here we find our Mules that will carry our equipment until Piedra Numerada place of our first camp at 3,330m. Set up our camp and dinner.
Day 2: Trek to Plomo Base camp (4,100m).
Breakfast in the morning. Ascent towards La Olla 13,124 ft. (4.100m), El Plomo base camp, located at the end of the valley. From here we have an impressive view of the Iver glacier, and the normal route. Box lunch and return to Piedra Numerada. Dinner.
Day 3: Trek to La Parva.
Breakfast. Walk down to La Parva ski area. Here our vehicle will transfer us to Santiago.
