CORDILLERA HUAYHUASH

DATE: From April to September.
MINIMUM: TWO PERSONS.

Lenght: 17 days

Sixteen days program through one of the most remotes and wild trek in the world. A magnificent experience in this mountain chain located south Cordillera Blanca. This trek goes up between 3.500msnm until 5.000msnm.

ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival to Lima.
Pick up at the airport, and ground transfer to Hotel in Lima.

Day 2: Ground transfer Lima to Huaráz.
The transfer, taking the Pan-American high way to north side from Lima until the Lima and Ancash departments boundary in the district of  Paramonga, from here we’ll start to climb the Cordillera Negra in its west side with direction to the highest pass from today Conococha 4500 masl. Here we’ll find a small peasant village called Conococaha next to this village we will find a lake with the same name. From here we can already appreciate the views where the Cordillera Blanca Starts, and just 50 kilometers aprox south from the Cordillera Blanca lies Cordillera Huayhuash and we can see only its peaks if there is no cloud,. From Conococha we have to go down along the Santa River that runs through the Callejon de Huaylas until Huaraz. At 6pm aprox we will arrive and immediately we’ll transfer the passengers into the selected Hotel in Huaraz.
Day 3: Acclimatization on Llanganuco lake at 3.850 masl.
Tour to Llanganuco lagoon in order to improove our acclimatization. Back to Huaraz at Andino hotel.
Day 4: Transfer from Huaraz to Llamac. at 3.300 masl.
Beginning Huayuash trek. Drive from Huaraz to Llamac. From here we will initiate out trek to Matacancha. Arrival after 7 - 8 hours. Camp.
Day 5: Matacancha – Mitucocha (7 hours) Cacananpunta  4.700 masl.
Breakfast in the morning. Trek to Mitucocha camp through Cacananpunta mountain pass of 4.700 masl. The final camp is located besides Mitucocha lagoon at 4.400 masl. Set up our camp. Snack and Dinner.
Day 6: Mitucocha – Carhuacocha.
Trek to Carhuacocha camp (lagoon) where we arrive after cross Carhuac mountain pass at 4,650m. Dinner.
Day 7: Day rest at Carhuacocha.
Day 8: Carhuacocha – Huayhuash.
Breakfast in the morning. Trek through Carnicero valley and mountain pass. Our camp is located at 4.350 masl in Huayhuash village. Dinner.
Day 9: Huayhuash (Laguna Jurau) – Viconga.
Trek to Viconga. Arrival after 6-7 hours from Jarucocha after cross Huayhuash mountain pass at 4,750m. Our camp will be at 4.100 masl in Rinconada.

Day 10: Rinconada – Huanacpatay valley (6 - 7 hours) Cuyoc pass at 5.000 masl.
Camp in Huanacpatay gorge at 4.500 masl after cross the higher mountain in the Huayhuash trek, Cuyoc pass of 5.000 masl.

Day 11: Huanacpatay valley - Huatiac (7  hours).
Camp at Huatiac at 4.200 masl.

Day 12: Huatiac - Anguncancha (5 hours).
Camp at Anguncancha at 4.300 masl. reached after Tapush mountain pass of 4.800 masl. Camp and dinner.

Day 13: Anguncancha – Jahuacocha lagoon (5  hours) Tapush pass at 4.800 masl.
Camp at Jahuacocha lagoon.

Day 14: Day rest at Jahuacocha lagoon.

Day 15: Jahuacocha – Llamac – Huaraz.
Last trekking day until Llamac. From Llamac ground transfer to Huaraz. Hotel.
Day 16: Back to Lima, Hotel.
Ground transfer to Lima.
Day 17: Fligth back.
Pick up at your hotel in Lima and transfer to International airport.
