HUASCARAN

Huascaran is the tallest mountain of Cordillera Blanca of Peru, and gives the National Park Name. Is the highest tropical mountainous in the Earth. Huascarán offers innumerable routes of ascent by the most varied ways of ice, rock and snow. Our expedition will move through the normal route, “La Garganta” (The Throat).

Day 1 : Flight to Lima, Hotel.
Arrival to Lima airport. Pick up at airport and private transfer to Lima Hotel in Miraflores District.


Day 2 : Lima - Huaraz at 10,006 ft. (3,050m.)
Private ground transfer from Lima to Huaraz. Hotel.


Day 3 : Huaraz - Pisco base camp.
Transfer from Huaraz to Yungay. From here we will drive up to Cebollapampa. From here we will hike to Base camp of peak Pisco. Camp.

Day 4 : Pisco base camp - C1.
Move from BC to camp 1 (high camp) crossing the morrein of Huaydoy. Camp.

Day 5 : C1 - Pisco Summit - Pisco base camp.
Departure to the summit before sunshine. Arrival in 5-6 hours. After climb summit of Pisco, return to C1 and continue to base camp. Dinner.

Day 6 : Pisco base camp - Huascarán base camp at 13,451 ft. (4,100m.)
Walk down to Cebollapampa. Transfer to Mancos 8,300 ft.(2.530m), raised by 20 kilometers until the town of Musho at 9,941 ft. (3.030m.). From here the mules will take our load to our next base camp 13,550ft. (4.130m.)

Day 7 : Base camp - Camp 1 (C1) – base camp.
On this day we will port our gear and food for our next days expedition. The camp C1 located at 16,404 ft. (5.000m.) is reached after crossing a rocky board, left by the backward movement of the glacier of Huascarán (2 - 3h).

Day 8 : Base camp - C1.
Move to camp 1 located at the begining of the glacier.

Day 9 : C1 - C2.
In order to reach C2, we will go onto the glacier hiking until site located below “La Garganta” (The Throat). (2 - 3 hours) camp 2 at 17,716 ft. (5.400m.)

Day 10 : C2 - Col at 19,685 ft. (6,000m.)
Today we will climb the "Throat", after short technical climb of glacier wall (65°), the climb continue in direction to col, between North Huascarán and south summit (6h).

Day 11 : Col - Huascaran summit - Col.
From the col there are around 7-8 hours to the summit, by easy snow field of 30-40° degrees where one of the most extraordinary views of Cordillera Blanca mountain range.

Day 12 : Down hill from Col to C1.

Day 13 : C1 - Musho - Huaraz.
Private transfer from Musho to Huaraz. Hotel.

Day 14 : Huaraz - Lima, Hotel.
Ground transfer to Lima. Hotel.


Day 15 : Lima - Flight back.
Pick up at the Hotel in Lima and transfer to Airport.
