DURATION: 22 Days
DIFFICULTY: No technical route, high altitude. Approach through Horcones valley (see map).

Itinerary:
Day 1 Arrival to Mendoza.
Arrival to Mendoza (Argentina). Pick up at the airport and transfer to Hotel in Mendoza down town. (Hotel Aconcagua 4* or similar). Check personal equipment. Dinner at night and discuss the program.
Day 2 Mendoza - Penitentes.
Get the Aconcagua climbing permit in Mendoza. Transfer towards Penitentes (2.400masl), place at the mountain near Puente del Inca (Inca Bridge). Lodging in Hotel, Penitentes. Dinner tent.
Day 3 Penitentes – Pampa de Leñas
First day of trekking, by the Vacas Valley. Camp. Dinner tent.
Day 4 Pampa de Leñas – Casa de Piedra
Move from Pampa de Leñas camp, place just in front of entrance of Relinchos Valley. Camp Casa de Piedra. Dinner tent.
Day 5 Move to Base camp
Move to our base camp, located at the end of Upper Valley (Plaza Guanacos). This trek going through remote valley where we will see the guanaco (Andean cameloid), and the impressive mountain and glacier of "La Mano". Camp at 3,850m. In this day we will cross several cold rivers, to do this we need to carry neoprene booties. Set up tents and dinner tent.
Day 6 Rest Day
Dinner tent.
Day 7 Carry load to Camp 1 and back to base camp.
Breakfast. High altitude gear organization. Carry this equipment to camp 1 and return to base camp. Dinner tent.
Day 8 Move to Camp 1 at 4,300m.
Hike to camp 1 and set up tents. High altitude dinner.

Day 9 Carry load to Camp 2 and back to camp 1.
Breakfast. Carry this equipment to camp 2 and return to camp 1. High altitude dinner.

Day 10 Move to Camp 2 at 4,700m.
Hike to camp 2 and set up tents. High altitude dinner.

Day 11 Carry load to Camp 3 and back to camp 2.
Breakfast. Carry this equipment to camp 3 and return to camp 2. High altitude dinner.

Day 12 Move to Camp 3 at 5,300m.
Hike to camp 3 and set up tents. High altitude dinner.

Day 13 Carry load to Camp 4 and back to camp 3.
Breakfast. Carry this equipment to camp 4 and return to camp 3. High altitude dinner.

Day 14 Rest Day
High altitude dinner.

Day 15 Move to camp 4 (White Rocks) at 5,850m.
Hike to camp 1 and set up tents. High altitude dinner.

Day 16 Summit Day
Leaving early before sunrise, we will initiate our ascent via normal route. The “Paso del Viento”  is our first psychological difficulty due the long traverse. Soon, the path continues toward the Canaleta, the most hard section to climb due the difficult loose rock section and for the high altitude. Once surpassed already we can count with the summit photo and a spectacular view of the South face of the Aconcagua. High altitude dinner.

Day 17 Camp 4 - Plaza de Mulas (normal Route Base Camp).
Breakfast. Down hill until Plaza de Mulas base camp (Horcones Valley). Dinner tent.

Day 18 Plaza de Mulas - Puente del Inca (International Road).
Breakfast. Mules will carry down our equipment. 6 to 7 hour trek until Puente del Inca. Our vehicle will transfer us until our Hotel at Penitentes. Dinner.

Day 19 Puente del Inca - Mendoza
On the way to Mendoza we can stop in a beauty restaurant beside the Mendoza river, to relax and fun in a rafting trip after our expedition in Aconcagua. Late afternoon arrive to our Hotel in Mendoza.
Days 20-21 Extra day.
It is necessary to indicate that the expedition can take one, two or even three extra days if we need to wait for better climatic conditions or get a better acclimatization.
Day 22 Mendoza airport
Transfer to airport and flight back.

· Two nights hotel in Mendoza, double occupancy, four stars (breakfast included)

· Mules for common equipment (tents, stoves, pots, food, fuel, ..)
· Mules for personal gear (20 kg. max.) to base camp and return

· Complete high altitude cooking gear with tables and chairs
· Radio communication
· Medical kits during the expedition
· Satellite phone during the expedition (US$ 6 a minute)
· Pulse and Oxygen daily monitored to check  acclimatization.

*Note: Some adventure companies does not include the park entrance fee.

Does not include:

· Flight to Santiago, Chile, or Mendoza, Argentina
· All personal climbing equipment
· Accident and rescue insurance
· Cash for extra expenses
· Extra meals in Santiago and Mendoza
· Extra days in hotels in case of premature arrival
